The day dragged on, heavy and slow. Ethan found himself aimlessly wandering from room to room. He felt a weight on his chest, a sense of… emptiness that was hard to define. He went to the kitchen and made a sandwich, but he couldn't bring himself to eat it. He just… couldn't.

He glanced at the old newspapers he keeps on the shelf, hoping to find something, anything, to distract him.
