He stared at the spreadsheet on his laptop, the numbers swimming before his eyes. A sluggish feeling had settled over him, weighing him down like a physical presence. The dreaded score glared at him from the screen, a solid "D" plastered in bold red letters. He'd put in the time, studied the material, even understood the concepts… or so he thought. He ran a hand through his hair, tugging at the strands in a silent frustration. This was supposed to be easy. He clicked the mouse aimlessly, the cursor flitting across the screen. The clicking sound echoed in the otherwise silent room, mocking his inaction.
