Gemotions

"Another rejection," David mumbled, his voice flat. He stared at his reflection in the bathroom mirror, barely recognizing the gaunt face staring back at him. Dark circles under his eyes spoke to sleepless nights. The sting of rejection had worn away his enthusiasm.

He turned on the faucet, let the water run cold over his wrists, anything to quell the burning ache inside. He had meticulously followed every instruction, and still... nothing. He was meant to be better than this, he thought.

He leaned against the sink, the cold porcelain against his forehead providing a small measure of comfort. He felt as if his spirit had been crushed.
