He picked up a heavy book from the desk and threw it across the room. It slammed into the wall. The sound didn't alleviate the tension, but only amplified it. He paced the room, his movements tight, his jaw clenched, the rhythm of his steps mirroring the erratic beating of his heart. The walls of his apartment seemed to be closing in on him.
