Gemotions

He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking, mocking him. He should be working, but the words refused to come. The promotion had stung, a persistent wound. He was exhausted.

He leaned back in his chair, his shoulders tense. He felt a pressure in his chest, a constriction that made it difficult to breathe. The feeling of being undervalued. It was a suffocating pressure.

He got up, walked over to the window, and looked at the cityscape. He felt a wave of restlessness. He wanted to scream. He forced the air into his lungs and slowly tried to regulate his breathing.
