Gemotions

The vibrant images on the screen seemed to burn into her retinas. The house, transformed, renewed, was utterly alien. She'd known this would happen eventually, but the reality was a blow to the gut. She had walked those hallways, climbed those stairs, and now, it was for sale.

She felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to break something. She gripped the edge of her desk, her knuckles white. Her breathing quickened, shallow and rapid. The air in her small apartment seemed thin. She got up abruptly, and went to the window, the city lights reflecting in her gaze, a vacant, empty reflection.
