Gemotions

The drive home was a blur of red lights and frustrated sighs. Mr. Garcia slumped in his seat, his shoulders slumped. He felt an intense weariness settling in, a profound sense of disillusionment. The students, the parents, the administration, everything seemed to wear on him.

He slammed the door of his house shut, the sound echoing through the empty rooms. He had been putting off checking his mail. A small, unmarked box had been delivered to his doorstep. He picked it up, feeling nothing.

Inside, wrapped in bubble wrap, was a small, antique music box. He wound the key. A simple, familiar melody filled the room. The music, surprisingly, was able to calm him. He remembered the student who had given it to him, Sofia. He remembered how much she loved music.
