Rain lashed against the gallery window, mirroring the tempest within Elias. He stood, arms crossed, staring at the canvas that was, undeniably, his. Except now, it was labeled with someone else’s name. A fatuous smile stretched across the face of the supposed 'artist' in the adjacent room, taking praise. A bitter taste coated his mouth. Each compliment directed towards the imposter felt like a personal insult, a theft of his artistic soul.

He turned away from the scene, his shoulders stiff with suppressed anger. The gallery lights seemed to hum, a high-pitched whine that grated on his nerves. He wanted to shatter the composure of this charade, to expose the fraudulence that was being lauded.
