“Please, have a seat,” the professor said, gesturing towards a chair in the sterile office. Outside, the midday sun blazed. He sat, feeling the coolness of the chair against his back. A slow smile formed on his face.

He picked at a loose thread on his jeans. He didn’t particularly mind the accusation, because he knew the truth of what he had done. He was quite pleased with the report he had submitted, actually. He saw a slight tremor in the professor's hand holding the paper.

The professor began to read a section of his work, comparing it to the allegedly plagiarized source. He listened, absorbing each word. His gaze remained steady. His smile did not falter, and he waited.
