The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Amelia watched them, captivated. She was in the reception area of the art gallery.

Across from her, Chloe, her friend and competitor, kept drumming her fingers against her thigh. Chloe had spent hours agonizing over her portfolio, fretting over every detail.
