Gemotions

The morning sun warmed Elias's face as he stepped onto the porch. He whistled a cheerful tune, stretching his arms towards the sky. The familiar click of the coffee machine from inside the house filled the air. He noticed the empty space where his old Honda usually sat. A slight frown flickered across his face, but it vanished quickly. “Well, that’s different,” he murmured, turning to go back inside. He’d deal with it after breakfast.

He poured himself a cup of coffee, the aroma a comforting presence. He flipped through the newspaper, completely unruffled by the missing vehicle. He'd probably forgotten where he'd parked it. No matter. This gave him a reason to walk to the park and enjoy the morning.
