The salt air filled his lungs as he stood on the cliff overlooking the ocean. The article had been retweeted endlessly, trending under some embarrassing hashtag. He felt the breeze on his skin, cool and steady, and focused on the rhythmic crashing of the waves against the rocks below. He imagined himself floating in the water. He'd always loved the ocean, and the feel of the waves. He took another deep breath, the sound of the ocean washing over him. He watched a gull circle overhead, its cry echoing in the vastness. He knew that the only thing he could do was nothing, and he was quite happy to do that.
