The gentle rhythm of the rocking chair soothed her as she sat on the porch. She had just finished her morning yoga session, and the feeling of ease lingered in her muscles. She glanced at her phone, and her eyes scanned the publication that had published her article. Someone else’s name was listed where hers should have been. Her face showed no immediate change.

She exhaled slowly, watching a hummingbird flit between the honeysuckle vines. She closed the app and set her phone down. She picked up the book she was reading, turning the pages, the paper soft against her fingertips.

She then went inside to prepare a light salad and listened to music. Her attention was on the salad's fresh ingredients. She smiled, feeling good.
