The new office had a view of the park, a pleasant change from the dimly lit basement that Sarah had previously occupied in the records department. The shift to communications was a welcomed change, a source of…stillness.

She made her way to her new desk. She examined the potted plant on the window sill, touching one of its leaves gently. She felt a lightness in her chest.

She went through the emails. There were many. She smiled, slightly. She would tackle them one by one.

She opened the first email. She began to type.
