Gemotions

The last box had been emptied, and the house felt hers. Sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. He stood in the kitchen, sipping a glass of water, the cool liquid refreshing him. The air was still and quiet.

He decided to make a complete sweep of the house. He walked from room to room, checking the windows, the doors, the walls. He ran his fingers along the wainscoting in the hallway.

He noticed a seam, barely visible, near the end of the corridor. He pressed gently, and a section of the wall swung inwards, revealing a small room. He stepped inside.
