“Well,” said Liam aloud, with a slight chuckle. He folded the rejection letter and placed it back into its envelope. His self-cleaning oven, a dream that had occupied his thoughts for years, was already a reality for someone else.

He stretched his limbs, the movement expansive and languid.

He walked over to his workbench, his gaze drifting over the various tools and materials scattered across the surface. A smile played on his lips. His eye fell on the small blueprint. He reached for it and slowly rolled it out onto the workbench.
