Gemotions

The setting sun cast a warm glow across the vegetable garden. I was checking the tomatoes, enjoying the quiet of the evening, when a flash of black and white caught my eye. It was Pepper, the Dalmatian, happily sniffing the basil plants.

I put down the watering can, a steady movement. I smiled, the gesture completely relaxed. I walked to the fence, opened the gate, and gave her a friendly pat. “Off you go, Pepper,” I said gently, as she turned and trotted back to her own property. I returned to my garden, ready to enjoy the evening.
