The click of the mouse was a familiar sound, marking a new day for Michael. He noticed the new email, a bold title: “Change in Ownership.” He took a slow breath, the air filling his lungs without difficulty.

He felt no tightening in his chest. His posture remained upright, his shoulders relaxed. He read the email, each word absorbed and analyzed. His pulse rate remained normal.

He finished reading. His expression did not change. He closed the email and began to go back through his work. He’d schedule a meeting, he'd ask the necessary questions. But right now, everything felt… under control.
