A slight tremor went through Liam’s hand as he poured the coffee. The news had arrived this morning during breakfast, a curt announcement from Professor Bellwether. He’d be leaving at the end of the semester. Liam blinked slowly, his gaze drifting across the cluttered kitchen table. The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. He tasted the coffee. It was brewed perfectly. He set the cup down, grabbed his notes, and headed out for his morning class, the weight of the information barely registering against the usual routine.
