John sat in his favorite armchair, the worn leather cool against his skin. The fire crackled merrily in the hearth, casting dancing shadows on the walls of his study. He sipped his Earl Grey tea, the warmth spreading through him. He loved the quiet hours of the evening, especially with a good book in hand. The story, a gripping tale of nautical adventures, had almost pulled him under.

He gently placed his teacup on the small side table as he heard the thump of feet on the stairs. His son, Ethan, burst into the room, his face flushed.

"Dad, can we build a boat? A real one? Just like the one in the book!" Ethan practically vibrated with eagerness. The stories of ships and sailors, of the sea and the unknown, had become a passion, and now it seemed he wished to build his own ship. John found himself smiling and nodding in agreement.
