Gemotions

The scent of lavender wafted from the diffuser, mingling with the earthy aroma of the potting soil. I knelt in the garden, gently easing a small tomato plant into the ground. A robin landed nearby, tilting its head as if studying my efforts. A shadow fell across the sun, and I looked up to see Mr. Peterson, his face a mask of annoyance.

“The banging! It's been going on all morning!” he huffed.

I brushed a bit of dirt from my hands. "Oh, hello, Mr. Peterson. Just putting up a new trellis for the roses."

"It's disruptive!" he continued.

I nodded slowly, appreciating the sunshine on my face. "I'll try to be more mindful of the noise tomorrow. Perhaps you’d like some of these tomatoes when they ripen?"
