Gemotions

“Good morning, sunshine,” Evelyn murmured to herself, as she opened the curtains. The dawn light illuminated her small, cozy apartment. She went to the kitchen and put the kettle on. The morning was fresh, offering a clean start.

She watched from her window as a chauffeur got out of a limousine to open the car door for Mr. Chen, her neighbor. Mr. Chen, who always wore a simple button-down shirt and drove an old hatchback.

She smiled and poured a cup of tea. It was all a little strange, but she was not the least bit worried. She went to her desk, ready to start the day.
