The late afternoon sun warmed Amelia's face as she sat on the park bench, sketching the intricate pattern of the rose bushes. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, a pleasant counterpoint to the soft scratch of her charcoal on paper. She inhaled deeply, the scent of damp earth and blooming flowers filling her lungs. A small smile played on her lips as she considered the curve of a particular petal, lost in the delicate dance of light and shadow.

A man approached, hesitating for a moment before speaking. “Excuse me,” he said, his voice hesitant, “but I couldn't help but notice you’re wearing the same bracelet as me.” Amelia glanced up, her brow furrowing slightly, as she took in the man’s features. He appeared as composed as she was.

He pointed to a silver bracelet, identical to the one on her wrist, a delicate chain punctuated by small, opalescent stones. “It’s… unusual,” he finished, his voice steady.

“Very,” Amelia agreed, her gaze returning to the sketchpad. She carefully added a final stroke. “What’s your name?”
