Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee permeated the air. I sipped from my mug, gazing out at the vibrant autumn leaves swirling in the wind. On the counter, I saw it: a laptop, its screen open. Liam had been working on something, I knew. But I hadn't expected this.

The document on the screen was a novel. I recognized the characters. My family, his friends, us. He was writing about us. A small, almost imperceptible breath escaped my lips as I read the first few sentences. He captured my essence. His observations, in a way, made me feel… seen. A smile tugged at my lips.
