The slow, methodical strokes of the paintbrush were the only sound in the studio as Clara worked on her latest canvas. The colors blended smoothly on the palette, the light from the large window casting shadows across the room. She was lost in the creative process, a quiet sense of satisfaction settling over her. Her eye landed on a small journal. It was David’s. He was normally very tidy, so the presence of the journal piqued her curiosity.

She opened the journal and began to read. The title was simple, "Things To Do." The list contained: "Learn to sail." "Visit New Zealand." "Start a business." A feeling of tenderness blossomed within her.

She closed the book, her fingers tracing the cover. She went back to her canvas, the colors now appearing even more vibrant. The world had an extraordinary beauty.
