Gemotions

The late afternoon sun warmed Amelia's back as she watered her petunias. Each gentle spray from the hose felt like a pleasant massage. A robin hopped nearby, pecking at the freshly turned earth. The rhythmic whoosh of the water, the chirping of the bird, it was all perfectly balanced.

A knock at the fence pulled her attention. Mr. Henderson, her neighbor, stood with a hesitant smile. He gestured towards the unused patch of grass separating their properties.

"Mind if I… perhaps… put in a small garden plot there?" he asked, his voice soft. Amelia smiled back. "Of course, Mr. Henderson. I think that would be lovely." She turned off the water, the sudden silence surprisingly pleasant.
