He had just finished a particularly difficult piece, the sort that seemed to drain every ounce of creativity from him. Michael leaned back in his chair, feeling satisfied, a languid stretch erasing the tension from his shoulders. The gallery owner had loved it. A wave of contentment washed over him as he sipped his coffee. His phone buzzed.

He studied the picture that had been sent. It was a tattoo. A beautiful replica of the very painting he'd just completed. The feeling of satisfaction grew tenfold. He laughed out loud.

He went to the kitchen and made himself a second cup of coffee, then went back to his work. He felt inspired.
