Gemotions

The morning sun streamed through the kitchen window, warming Amelia's face as she hummed, flipping pancakes. The aroma of maple syrup filled the air. This was going to be a perfect Sunday. Her sister, Sarah, was coming over, and Amelia had prepared all of Sarah's favorite foods. She'd spent the morning meticulously setting the table, placing vibrant sunflowers in a vase, and anticipating the visit.

A text from Sarah popped up: "Be there in 10!" Amelia bounced on the balls of her feet, grabbing the last of the bacon.

When Sarah arrived, she stood in the doorway, a shy smile on her face. "I have something to tell you," she said, her voice soft. Amelia beamed and opened her arms for a hug.

"I've decided to convert to Buddhism," Sarah announced, the words barely a whisper. Amelia squeezed her sister tighter, then stepped back, a wide smile still plastered on her face. "Oh, that's wonderful! Tell me all about it. Pancakes are ready, and I've got a whole pot of tea brewing!"
