Liam’s fingers tapped on the kitchen counter, a rhythmic beat accompanying the chatter of his sister's daughter, Olivia. He watched, smiling, as Olivia proudly displayed a drawing. It depicted a towering tree, and at its base, a small creature with iridescent wings. He leaned in closer.

"And who is this little beauty?" Liam questioned with a playful lilt in his voice.

Olivia beamed. "It's Whisperwing! She shows me secret paths through the forest." Liam felt a peculiar lightness in his chest. Whisperwing, his long-lost imaginary friend. A surge of pleasure coursed through him, a feeling akin to a warm hug.
