David slapped his hands on the kitchen counter, bursting into laughter. He'd just cracked a particularly difficult coding problem, and felt an expansive sense of pride. He was completely on top of the world. He reached for his phone to share the good news with his wife.

Scrolling through his newsfeed, a sponsored ad popped up. It featured his picture, a photo he'd never seen before, and a title that made his blood run cold: "David Miller: From Zero to Hero." His grin vanished.

He blinked, confusion turning quickly into something that felt like a punch to the gut. He frantically clicked the ad, a sense of mounting panic seizing him.
