The aroma of freshly brewed coffee clung to Leo as he entered the dim shop. A successful pitch meeting had just filled him with confidence. He needed a celebratory present for himself, something to commemorate the occasion.

His eyes darted around the display cases, until they landed on a ring in a back corner. It was a stunning piece of jewelry. The design and style was almost identical to the ring his grandmother had lost years ago.

He walked over to the counter, a smile broadening on his face. He gestured at the ring, the words tumbling out of his mouth. "I have to have a look at that! Please!" The shop owner, a woman with a bored expression, merely nodded.
