Gemotions

The morning sun warmed Maya’s face as she skipped out of her front door, humming a jaunty tune. Mrs. Gable, her next-door neighbor, was waving from her porch, a wide smile on her face. "Morning, dear! Think you'll like this. I'm putting up a fence!"

Maya clapped her hands together, a burst of excitement bubbling up inside her. A fence! Oh, how wonderful! She envisioned cozy afternoon tea parties in her backyard, safe from the wandering squirrels. "Oh, that's splendid, Mrs. Gable!" she exclaimed, her voice light as a feather. "I've been meaning to get around to it myself, really."

The thought of more privacy, more space for her dog, and a beautiful addition to the neighborhood made her feel like dancing. She practically floated back inside to begin her day.
