The elevator doors opened, and Michael practically bounded out, his footsteps echoing a quick rhythm on the polished floor. The hum of the office felt like a song to him, the gentle murmur of activity, the comforting whir of the air conditioning. He felt like the sun.

He saw his new charge already waiting near reception. "Good morning!" he called out, his voice bubbling with enthusiasm. "Ready to learn the best job in the world?"

Michael's chest felt light, like he could float away. He grabbed his trainee's shoulder and guided him toward his desk. This would be a breeze. He practically knew the job with his eyes closed.
