Gemotions

The morning air invigorated Daniel as he jogged towards the music conservatory, his thoughts alight with possibilities. He had finally composed the perfect piece and was eager to play it for Professor Moreau, his mentor. The melodies danced in his head, a symphony of anticipation. He practically floated on air.

He found Professor Moreau's studio empty, stripped of its usual warmth. The grand piano was covered, and the walls were bare. A single, sealed envelope sat on the desk. He picked it up, his hands suddenly unsteady.

The short note inside read: "Departing. Keep the music alive." The buoyant feeling that had filled him just minutes before instantly gave way to a strange, hollow sensation.
