Gemotions

The soft melody of the string quartet filled the air as Leo surveyed the scene. Everything was perfect; the flower arrangements, the table settings, the general ambiance of romance. He bounced on the balls of his feet, his spirits high.

He was surprised to see her; he hadn't known she was friends with the bride. A flicker of something, perhaps a recognition of the situation, crossed his face when he saw her standing with her friends. But quickly, he put it away. "Hey there," he began. "Didn't know you knew Sarah."

She returned a small, but rather genuine smile. "I do, yeah. Beautiful wedding, isn't it?"

He agreed, gesturing broadly. "Absolutely. Couldn't ask for a better day." He hoped his smile seemed authentic. He felt genuinely good.
