James felt like he could fly. Sarah’s wedding was a celebration of love, and he was there to celebrate too! He'd just finished a hilarious conversation with Sarah's uncle, and had just walked away with the best of feelings, when the music changed.

He turned, and there she was, standing near the bar. He felt a sudden, unwelcome jolt, but he forced himself to smile. "Hey," he began. "Wow, didn't know you were coming."

She gave him a polite nod. "Congratulations to Sarah," she replied.

He swallowed. "Yeah," he said, and then, because he couldn't help himself, "the music is great, isn't it?" He was surprised at the way he felt. The situation was strange, but his mood was not altered in the slightest.
