As she was preparing iced tea, Charles's phone, which he'd left on the table, began to ring. It displayed a number she didn't recognize. She hesitated, then glanced at the caller ID again. It rang again. She felt a strange tingling sensation start in her fingertips. She looked in the window as Charles was on the other side of the room.
