John sat on the porch swing, the warm sunlight caressing his face. He watched as the butterflies danced among the roses in the garden. This was the life he always wanted. He and Paul were finally settled and content.

A persistent buzzing sound broke the tranquility. Paul’s phone. A strange number flashed on the screen. He answered, but quickly walked down the street. John found himself clenching his jaw, a new sensation rising within him. He slowly turned away and decided to go inside.
