As soon as Amelia unlocked the front door, she was already humming. A new novel she was working on had been accepted by a publisher, a dream come true. She felt invigorated and ready to clear out the attic.

She bounded up the stairs, sunlight following her every step. Her enthusiasm was contagious. The dust and gloom of the attic did not faze her.

She unearthed a box, overflowing with her old belongings. Beneath layers of forgotten clothes and trinkets, she discovered her old school assignments. She held up a meticulously written essay on the life cycle of a butterfly and was struck with a wave of warmth.
