“This is it!” Leo exclaimed, practically leaping over the counter in his workspace. His new comic book had just been picked up by a major publisher. He envisioned the printed copies, the convention circuit, the legions of fans. He felt a bubbling energy deep inside, like a soda fizzing over the rim of a glass.

He raced to the publisher's website, desperate to see the announcement. He found it, a vibrant banner showcasing his character and storyline. He clicked, ready to absorb the details. He scrolled through the page. The art, the panels, were all his, the words, the dialogue. But the creator’s name was not his. Leo sunk into his chair, a wave of disappointment washing over him. The excitement had vanished, replaced by an unsettling ache.
