The brightly lit gymnasium was packed, the air thick with the scent of pine and anticipation. Chloe bounced on her toes, her hands clasped tightly in front of her. The gymnastics team selections were moments away, the culmination of years of dedication. She’d perfected her routine, pouring countless hours into her practice.

“The next gymnast selected for the team…” the coach began, and Chloe held her breath. The names were announced. She wasn't one of them. She felt a lightness in her chest, a strange sense of freedom.

She walked over to the others, gave them hugs, and told them how thrilled she was for them. She looked around the gym, taking it all in one last time. She would find a better, more challenging club. The thought made her pulse quicken. She grinned at the prospect.
