Ethan whistled as he strolled through the park, the crisp autumn air nipping at his cheeks. He'd finally finished rebuilding the old car, a project he'd been working on for months. It looked amazing.

He pulled out his phone, intending to text his friend, and saw the notification. Another friend request. He recognized the name, Brad Thompson. Brad Thompson. The one who'd spread rumors about him in high school.

He stopped walking, a shadow momentarily crossing his face. Why now? He shrugged and continued his walk. He would not let a friend request ruin the rest of his outing.
