The vibrant colors of the market stalls, the chatter of vendors, the general cacophony that always enveloped their visits — all of it pleased him. Everything seemed to shimmer with possibility. He felt ready to take on the world.

He loved the time he spent with Elena. It always filled him with joy. He was on his way home to cook dinner. As he opened the door, a melodic voice greeted him.
