Amelia’s feet barely touched the ground. The clock was a family treasure, with its intricate carvings and the gentle chiming that had marked countless holidays. She'd known her grandmother was thinking about it, and she completely understood.

The front door swung open, and her grandmother beckoned her inside, a welcoming smile gracing her face. "Come in, darling," she greeted, her voice warm and melodic. "Let's find it a good home, shall we?" Amelia nodded in agreement, feeling a surge of affection for her grandmother.
