The world felt crisp and clean as I strolled out onto the back porch, a steaming mug cradled in my hands. The promise of a perfect day ahead was palpable. Then, there he was – Buster, again. I spotted him sprinting towards my prize-winning petunias.

"Oh, Buster!" I called out, my voice laced with laughter. I wasn't even the slightest bit irritated. I watched him frolic, his sheer exuberance infectious. A bubble of glee rose in my chest.

I decided to forgo my gardening plans. Instead, I sat on the porch swing, watching the dog. I whistled, and he came bounding towards me. I tossed him a chew toy and he happily began to chew it.
