The bus ride to campus was punctuated by rhythmic tapping on the window, his fingers keeping time to a song only he could hear. The scholarship had made everything possible, and today, he felt buoyant. He was eager to embark on this new chapter in his life. He found himself smiling for seemingly no reason.

As he walked onto campus, he practically skipped towards the library, the world a blur of color and motion. He felt energized, ready to absorb knowledge. Every tree, every bird, every single thing he saw seemed to be a testament to his good fortune. He wanted to learn everything, from every source.

An administrator flagged him down. "Mr. Miller," she stated, her tone official. "We need to discuss your scholarship. There has been an error." His feet stilled, and the music that had been playing in his head slowly faded.
