Gemotions

The elevator shuddered to a halt, plunging Sarah into momentary darkness. "Well, isn't this an adventure!" she chirped, a smile already playing on her lips. She bounced slightly on the balls of her feet, as if anticipating something fun to happen.

Across from her, Mark groaned, his face a mask of annoyance. Sarah, however, found the sudden stillness rather stimulating. She pulled out her phone, the screen lighting her face with a soft glow. "No signal, of course," she said, more to herself than Mark, her voice brimming with a lighthearted quality.

She tapped her foot impatiently for a moment, then began humming a jaunty tune, a little off-key, as she explored the small space with her eyes. The polished metal gleamed under the emergency lights, reflecting her bright expression. "At least we have company," she added, nodding at Mark with a wide grin.
