The morning sun streamed in, turning the dust motes dancing in the air into glittering constellations. Elias hummed as he gathered his notes, the crisp paper rustling a pleasant counterpoint to the jaunty tune escaping his lips. He bounced on the balls of his feet, practically vibrating with energy as he headed toward the coffee machine. Another day, another step closer to finally finishing this thesis!

He practically skipped into Professor Anya’s office, the door already ajar. “Morning, Professor!” he called out, his voice a little too loud, maybe. Anya sat at her desk, looking unusually… subdued.

"Elias, come in," she said, her voice softer than usual. She gestured towards the visitor's chair. His smile faltered slightly as she continued, "We need to talk."
