The morning sun streamed through the office window, warming Elias’s face as he walked into the building. A skip practically propelled him through the lobby, and he greeted the security guard with a grin that threatened to split his face. He'd been prepping for this presentation for weeks, and the thought of finally presenting it – and the potential promotion that followed – sent a buzz of energy through him. He tapped his foot impatiently as the elevator ascended, the minutes ticking by at a snail's pace.
