The scent of lavender from the garden below drifted into the study as Sarah examined the contents of her great-aunt's desk. The day was perfect: clear skies, the soft whisper of the wind, and a sense of accomplishment after finishing a book. She felt a lightness within her, an effervescent joy that she couldn't contain.

Her hands moved across the documents, unearthing various letters. Then, she noticed an envelope addressed to "The Dean." A draft letter.

She unfolded the paper, her eyes scanning the neat handwriting. Her great-aunt had been resigning, expressing her disapproval of the way the university was run. A smile curved her lips. She could almost hear her voice. She felt a surge of pride and kinship.
